The downside of traditional lipsticks is that they require a bit effort if you want to look good! First you need to prepare your mouth, then line your lips and apply two coats.
And if these wear off, you need to reapply with painstaking precision. This spring, look out for shades of coral, peach and pink, or be bold and try a sheer red, the perfect way to try a darker color if you have been using paler shades for years.

I love all the colors that you have mentioned but only the red color is not my favorite. I wear both pale and dark colored lipsticks that all depends on my mood. Dark colors leaves you unnoticed so, rarely I wear them.

Really were the antique lipsticks such a pain? I’m happy that I don’t belong to this particular era. Even today lipstick application can be a pain; it could the liner outlines the lip—this happens very often and it becomes very annoying to fix it up.

I don't see any interesting reasons for using traditional lipstick, it is a problem to apply so many coats and to re-apply, it's hundred time better to use newly and fashionble lipstick and lip glosses to get beautiful lips without having to so so much effort of applying so much lipstick coats.

The lipstick of long ago was too matte and the color also was too horrible. I think the problem was with the materials used in making the lipstick. Now, better materials are used and the nutritive value was has been immensely improved.

I have never thought that applying lipstick can so pain giving. You are saying that lipstick application requires one to prepare her mouth but this applies to any lip makeup. Am I not right?

Absolutely wrong even the lipstick of today need certain amount of effort for it to be well applied. Everything to be good needs some effort dear. But one I agree is that the lipstick of today is better then the traditional one.
