Many “Make-up Artists” will tell you to focus the application of your blush on the apple of your cheek. You can (of course) do this if you want to look like Raggedy Ann. When watching most women apply their blush, I notice that most women will apply the color to the apple with very quick, short brush strokes…and then just as quickly, wipe most of it off.

If you apply your color first to the highest part of your cheekbone (along your hair line) and pull the brush forward, you will slightly reshape your face (to make it look thinner) and your blush (unless you choose an extremely unnatural color) will always look natural.

Side note: there are always exceptions. Some women with very thin faces look better WITH the color on the apple (as it appears to widen their face).
